Steve's speaking style is a breath of fresh air, infused with humor, as he shares life lessons from his time in the NFL as a player for the Denver Broncos, as well as his personal journey of trials and triumphs. He effortlessly connects with his audiences, empathizing with their experiences, understanding their challenges, and sharing in their emotions.
Hailing from Akron, Ohio, Steve's athletic prowess was evident during his time at Walsh Jesuit High School, where he excelled as one of the top five hurdlers in the country. Steve went on to become a scholarship athlete at Miami University of Ohio, where he not only continued to excel academically but also served as the captain of both the track and football teams. Immediately after graduation, he accepted a contract offer from the Denver Broncos, beginning his professional football career.
He founded the D.C. office of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), serving as its first director. Steve's dedication to the FCA extended beyond his role as he became the organization's first National Spokesman for the One Way 2 Play Drug Free Project. In this capacity, he conducted over 150 school assemblies each year. In addition to his speaking engagements, Steve co-founded The House DC, Inc. This initiative transformed three former crack houses into a safe after-school drop-in center for teenagers in Southeast Washington, D.C. The House provides a nurturing environment for students to develop life skills and discover their purpose.
