JONATHAN SCHNEIDERMAN

Jonathan starred at Forreston High School from 1995-99, setting career records with 1,765 points, 425 assists, 187 3-point field goals and 376 free throws. He averaged 23.9 points, 5.5 assists, 2.1 steals (per game) and shot 45 percent from 3-point range as a senior. Jonathan was the Freeport Journal-Standard Player of the Year, first-team IBCA all-stater, Class A 3-point Contest Champion, and was recently inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame in 2022. He played four years at The University of Illinois-Chicago and finished fourth in career free throw percentage (83%), third in career 3-point percentage (42%). (basketballmuseumofillinois.com)

Following college, Jonathan returned to Forreston, IL, as a high school business education teacher and head boys basketball coach, and later becoming a school administrator. The teams he coached won 5 regional championships, 2 sectional championships, and won over 75% of their games. He was awarded the IBCA Region Coach of the Year three times. He would also go on to begin and lead the Forreston FCA Huddle - an influence that continues to leave a mark today.

As part of our evening, Jonathan will be joined by Jake Groom - a player who was not only coached by Jonathan but found his faith in Jesus Christ through the influence of the coach. Jake now leads the Forreston Huddle where he was first saved by grace.
